Automate the fastening of screw heads into the terminal block to improve efficiency and productivity along with quality

CHALLENGES

The labour intensive method required 8 screws to be fastened on a part. This sometimes required 6 workers to perform different actions, such as, placing the screws, fastening of the screws, checking the torque level and so on, producing 1 part per 30 seconds.

Human errors were found to cause a rejection rate of 150 per 10,000 parts manufactured
